My Favorite Summer Sweets

Hey guys! This week, I decided to change things up by sharing some of my favorite summer sweets. I don’t know about you, but summer cannot come soon enough. Hopefully these sweet treats will make it seem just a bit closer :).

French Grandmother’s Lemon Yogurt Cake, The Cafe Sucre Farine

I am in love with this cake. It’s full of lemon flavor, moist, and completely covered in a lemon glaze and powdered sugar- yet it’s not overly sweet. Not only is it absolutely delicious on it’s own, but a scoop of frozen vanilla yogurt makes it oh so refreshing on a hot summer day. This cake is so easy to make and has always been a favorite amongst my family, we just can’t get enough!

French Grandmother's Lemon Yogurt Cake - a fabulous cake with a really fun history. It's moist and super delicious and it can be thrown together in minutes!

Chocolate Chip Cookie Ice Cream Sandwiches

Cookies+Ice cream+Hot summer day= 🙂 Seriously, it can’t get any better than this. These sweet treats are a must have on hot summer days. Not only are they a summer must have, but they are incredibly delicious!

In order t0 make these, you have to make a batch of soft baked chocolate chip cookies (provided by yours truly :P.) After you let the cookies cool off, smear on some soft vanilla ice cream in between two, wrap them in plastic wrap, and stick them in the freezer to harden up!

Homemade Popsicles

Step away from the boxed popsicles! In general, homemade popsicles are healthier. You can regulate what goes in and what doesn’t. The means that you can leave out all the bad stuff! All you need is a blender, small paper cups, wooden sticks, and the ingredients of your choice. Not only are popsicles a great way to cool off, but they are the best way to sneak in veggies! My go to ingredients are spinach, kale, peaches, strawberries, and orange juice! Don’t know what to put in yours? Check out this link!
